Many site scouts are simply looking for interesting office spaces, lobbies, coffee shops, restaurants, and downtown districts to photograph. There's a reason why so many industries hire location scouting agencies to find an ideal location for their photography or film shoots. The scouting professionals come up with locations that provide the appearance the production wants while also providing all of the necessary conveniences for the crew. So what are the three most important factors professionals keep in mind while scouting locations outside? These are- Power On every shot, there is one thing you must have: power. Without a battery, you can't even use your camera. Also, if you're going to be on location for an extended period, you'll need a lot of batteries or a mechanism to recharge them. So make sure you have access to power. Parking Transportation is one of the next most pressing issues. From large-scale shots in the woods to tiny productions in the city where each crew member must park their vehicles, you must find a parking spot for everyone. You might have to make a guest list or a ticket system for the staff ahead of time to prepare parking space for them. Restrooms You and your group will also need a place to go when it's time to leave after eating and drinking. There are numerous horror stories regarding crew members not being able to use the restroom.
